     John Mitchell Nevins has represented clients in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and arbitration proceedings on a nationwide basis from the perspective of a Justice Department attorney, an in-house lawyer for a prominent telecommunications company and in private practice. He has substantial experience in the litigation of antitrust matters and counseling clients on competition issues, including distribution and pricing practices, in-house compliance programs, and participation in trade associations. His practice includes advising employers, employees, and staff leasing companies on a myriad of employment law issues as well as drafting employment contracts, severance agreements, WARN Act Notices, and employee handbooks.

     Mr. Nevins has additionally represented both  plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving construction practices, ERISA, business torts, trademark infringement, usury, breach of contract, lender liability, wrongful discharge, employment discrimination and counseling, consumer protection claims, banking and creditors' rights, fair debt collection practices,  mortgage fraud, and RICO, as well as providing federal grand jury representation.

     Mr. Nevins received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. He earned his law degree with High Honors from The University of Texas Law School in 1978, where he served on the Texas Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Chancellor's Honor Society. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1978. Mr. Nevins is licensed to practice in the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, together with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar of Texas, and the Dallas Bar Association and is Legal Advocate for Knights of Columbus Council 11716 in Plano, Texas, and is an officer of the Dallas Bar Association's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section. He is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who has co-authored various legal articles dealing with hotel management disputes and other matters. Mr. Nevins was born in Houston, Texas, in 1954.
